The house is entirely built of wood (atop a concrete basement construction) and commands lovely views both south and west towards the Karawanken mountains which separate Austria from Slovenia and Italy a few kilometres to the south. Being the most southerly Austrian province Carinthia is well known for its virtual Mediterranean climate. Up to eight people can be accommodated in the house in four double/twin bedrooms. There are also jacuzzi and sauna rooms in the basement and outside a swimming pool. The nearby lake Faak is ideal for swimming and sailing. Golf, bicycling, horse riding are popular summer activities in the area. In winter the ski resort of Gerlitzen is a 15-20 minutes drive away. Further afield there are more ski resorts.
The province of Corinthia is a well known holiday destination in Austria with a number of beautiful lakes all within easy reach. The house is 3 km from ‘Faakersee’ a small and pretty lake. Warmbad the famous thermal spa resort is ten minutes by car and Villach the local provincial town a couple of kilometres further. The nearest airports are Klagenfurt and Ljubljana in Slovenia which is about one hour by car.
